ii. Individual Rehabilitation - Individual rehabilitation is a formal application process by which a person who is deemed inadmissible to Canada can be allowed to enter the country despite their prior serious criminal acts. They cannot qualify for deemed rehabilitation. You can apply for individual rehabilitation if at least five years have passed since you finished your criminal sentence and the person must demonstrate that he or she has been rehabilitated and is no longer a risk for criminal activity. This may require demonstrating:
- A stable lifestyle;
- Community ties;
- Social and vocational skills; or
- That the criminal offence was an isolated event
